I only have one thought on the new corch presser/introduction/swampbilly lap dance from last night, and it has to do with ego. This will bring back a painful memory or two for the Dawg nation, but bear with me.

The relationship between Meyer and Muschamp is great right now. There's pats on the back, fist bumps, high fives...it's like two lizards just chillin' in the Florida sunshine. But I started thinking more about this relationship (thanks in part to La Jolla)...when's the last time we saw something like this?
Maybe it's the awkward Georgia-Florida ties in this one to begin with, but the first one that came to mind was when Coach Dooley was pushed aside for Damon Evans. Dooley was the living legend that was suddenly removed from that spacious power office and set up in a glorifed janitor's closet.
Next thing you know Damon and Muschamp have trimmed the fat off of the current staff and things might not be so nice and
It's possible...God forbid.

Urban Meyer did not want to retire. He also didn't want his heart to explode on the sideline. Tough choice to make... Wait! There's a third option: Become a puppet master! But who would be desperate enough to let him play that role? Support him in that role? Not Dan Mullen. Not Bob Stoops. Definitely not Gruden...
Meyer called the Gator program "broken." Fixing a broken program would seem to be something that could put a lot of stress on the old ticker. Enter Muschamp. Meyer can call the plays and Muschamp will execute them. And absorb most of the stress.
If Muschamp fails, Meyer's hands and heart are clean. If Muschamp succeeds, Meyer gets credit for being involved. And then, when he is feeling a bit bettah, he coaches elsewhere.
It's all rainbows and unicorns in Gainesville right now. Does it stay that way? I think not.
If Muschamp gets pulled over by a Florida State Trooper in Tallahassee I bet we never hear about it. So, we will never know about the orange and blue unmentionables. That is the difference.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. As a student Muschamp was no slouch. He had some niffty scholarship offers from some military colleges before he decided to walk on at UGa.Had some academic honors while at Georgia too. Got a masters while he was coaching at Auburn….yes I know what your thinking there but none the less. And Muschamp ain't getting busted with no panties in his lap while driving around Hotlanta with a woman other than his wife. And he would never "cry" about it either. I don't appreciate the love he is expressing for the gators but still he is a capable coach and we need to look at him as such.
