It’s not like Tech is breaking new ground with the NCAA.
2005-”The NCAA placed Georgia Tech on two years of probation Thursday for using 17 academically ineligible athletes in four sports, including 11 in football.
It is the first time Georgia Tech has been placed on probation. The school had proposed self-imposed sanctions, including one year on probation.”

2010-“The NCAA on Tuesday announced that five teams--Cal-State Northridge, Chicago State, Grambling, Southern and Louisiana-Monroe--will be banned from postseason play in 2011-12. Connecticut, Cal-Riverside, Binghamton and Cal-Fullerton each will lose two scholarships. Georgia Tech, LSU, Ohio, Illinois-Chicago, North Carolina-Wilmington, Tennessee-Martin, UTEP and VMI all will lose one.”
