New GDay Format

The captains will choose sides on Monday instead of just going 1s vs 2s on GDay.

Richt said the April 16 G-Day game will have a new format.
Offensive and defensive captains on the red and black teams will pick sides.
“We’re going to let the players choose teams,” Richt said.
The previous format was the No. 1 offense vs. the No. 2 defense and vice versa.
Now a first-team center might line up next to a second-team guard.

All of which begs the question, what happens if Kwame gets chosen as a quarterback?

Why are they doing this?

It's already starting in 2011. Thanks a pantload Coach Richt! After the game they should line up and shake hands in a procession and have kool aid together.

What on earth are you talking about, anonymous? This is awesome. This is the very best way to motivate kids-respect from your peers- "oh, they don't think I'm good enough to be 1st team guard for them...I'll show them fools" or "Wow, I'm going to earn this respect they're giving me".

This is about the best parts of the team squaring off and trying to win. This is pretty much the opposite of CMR as usual.

This is a meaningless game people. I see no issue with mixing things up. Orson Charles was right on the money when he said that the football team needs to have fun.

Your 100% right guys! Maybe the Captains should choose a new head coach while they are at it!

If Mark Richt is such a great coach why does his team suck so bad?

From looking at the rushing stats from today's scrimage the OL still can't block for the run. If we can't run we can't win. I think the G-Day game will be fun but meaningless as usual.

@ Anon the anon with the DA post. I wish Bernie could install a DA meter on posts so I wouldn't have to read your drivel.
FYI of the 25 active winningest coaches Coach Richt is number 7. Miles is 19 and Mack Brown is 25. So put a sock in it.
