Kate Upton is a Gurley Girl?
After his first touchdown, Todd Gurley celebrated with a little salsa move. The pic of it escaped the internet evidently. So I chopped a video from the replay.

Happy BDay Mrs. BD!
As I get older, she only gets younger. And if you see her today, please wish her a very happy birthday as well as thank her for her support for the blog here. Because no matter how long you've been reading, she's got ya beat!
And her favorite all time player is Hines Ward. He was her favorite before he even put on his dancing shoes. In fact, I tribute her with his ability to do it all. She obviously taught him a thing or two about having more than one iron in the fire.
So, here ya go Honey! We lost the game, but like Hines, we gave it our all and cheered louder than all of my future in-laws combined.
Love ya!
Love ya!

Advanced Trolling - Mark May plays the sitar, and other things
So, in the wake of all the Les Miles hysteria I have a new plan for taking this internet identity thing to the next (more popular) level. This plan will naturally commence once all the lemmings have all but forgotten about the LSU coach's scandalous affair with a coed. Because that is the time to strike. While the iron is hot as they say! And while everyone is once again bored beyond all hope.
Because it is our duty as interweb chieftains to make each and every off season as colorful and eventful as possible. I accepted this pledge and this challenge years ago. I will do my part, implementing this easy seven step system designed to take me to perpetual stardom. Or just get me a few thousand more followers. Whatevs.
Regardless, step back son. Let your neighborhood blogger take it from here.
Step One
Choose target carefully. You can't pick someone too squarely in the limelight (read: Stephen Garcia in his heyday of laying chicks with daddy issues and guzzling Keystone by the case) or too far outside of it (read: whoever took over the quarterbacking from Stephen Garcia). And it should be someone I have at least a moderate working knowledge of so that I can pass my diction along as real talk y'all.
Other qualifications: edgy bordering on hated by the masses; within the city limits of College Football USA, because that is where most of my readers reside; beyond what we all see on the tv screen, Twitter or other places of the internets, this person should be relatively obscure and unknown. We don't necessarily need a paragraph on his/her Wiki page addressing their militant vegan lifestyle or their brief dabble with Hinduism. Just the basic, flat, public persona will do.
It'd also be nice if they played the sitar. Because I hate listening to the sitar. But perhaps that's too random.
Anyway, this is naturally subject to change, but right now I'm leaning towards Mark May. I'm already blaming him for such vile acts as the Makers Mark fiasco, the reason the tower in Pisa leans, Lou Holtz still having a job that assaults my ears with the crazed intensity of a thousand daggers, as well as North Korea's nuclear armaments. Yes, Mark May would be my prime target for this covert op via IP address. Perfect.
Well, either him or noted pop artist and casual sitar instrumentalist George Harrison. But he's dead so that would probably just make me look like an asshole.
Step Two
Wait. A while. Like at least until next Wednesday when there's nothing on tv but Duck Dynasty, cuz we all know everyone tweets their asses off during Duck Dynasty because Si actually runs his twitter and will one day respond to their message - "You're so funny Si. I'm a big fan man! (PS - please RT!!)"
Step Three
Find my twitter enabled device underneath stray pieces of popcorn, Cheez Puff curl dust, IBC root beer bottles and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Power it up and open up the Tweetbot application conveniently downloaded and displayed on my iPhone's first page right beside Shazam! - which is still the smart phone app that blows me away the most. I mean how in the name of all things Mayberry does it take a snippet of Cathedral, instrumental track #3 on Van Halen's Diver Down, send it to some "Name that Tune" server out in Silicon Valley where George DeWitt (who I am fairly certain is dead, at least that's what they had us to believe) types out the answer into some Lost 1960's style computer before sending it back to my phone where the screen refreshes and not only tells me what exactly I'm listening to, but who it is, when it was recorded and gives links to share this miracle as well as purchase the song on iTunes? Wow.
But I digress...
Step Four
Carefully type out the following message to my follower:
Step Five
While waiting on the potential and downright possible fact to go viral, it is imperative to begin constructing response tweets to people that will surely question the proclamation's validity. I'm certain Schlabach will ask me for a source and Deadspin will be all jealous and say something like "Pic or it didn't happen Bernie." And then someone at the AJC, maybe Carvell but probably Bradley, will say something about it was likely actually a One Direction concert since they are actually playing in a city that is actually near where Mark May actually lives. You know, because they're actually journalists and can actually fact check at the same time they actually drop a deuce. Or maybe Clay Travis with his eternal hard on for being the sports entertainment industry's biggest douchebag will point out that Bieber doesn't even have a scheduled concert that night.
What a whiny bitch. Whatever. Doesn't matter. All I need is someone with a shit-ton of followers (preferably Alyssa Milano, but I can't say for sure if she even knows who Mark May is...or maybe a pseudo morning tv star like Al Roker if he's even on twitter...or just one of May's ESPN colleagues - like Van Pelt or even Rece Davis - eager to defend their compadre while also laughing their ass off that they've indirectly publicized this mess to the entire world - high five!) to tweet me a question or comment or some vitriol laced with venom and then I'm set.
Step Six
Cue up some Little Guitars on my tune player app thing which is right beside Shazam!, crank it up (but not so loud that the wife wakes up) and watch the brilliance unfold with Kate, Chrissy and Hannah at my side. Yes! Watch the hunnerds of dollar bill$ roll in while people like ^finger quotes^ Muggsy in Morning ^/finger quotes^ and Maury Povich line up to interview me and show the ENTIRE WORLD my blog site!!! HAHAHAHAhahahahaHA!
Take that Mark effin' May! How ya like me now bitch?
Step Seven

Monday's Meatloaf - a local cougar brings Festivus Miracle!
Festivus has begun. I wasn't completely sure until I saw so many grievances being aired last night during the utter bullshit BCS show. I had come to accept the fact that we would be left out in the cold long before, but when I saw the matchups I really wanted to rain blows upon someone.
But I sense that we really need to move forward y'all. So this post is designed to be light, if not mildly entertaining and high in good things like sodium, random acts of curbside kindness and some trans fats. With all that being said...I don't like to brag, but...
When you have a birthday AND get your order in the Chick-Fil-A drive thru paid for by a hot cougar nice lady who has a clear, unobstructed rearview mirror, well...you know you're living right. Truthfully, I guess it's possible my mysterious lunch time "fan" was impressed as much by my Georgia vanity plate as my easy-on-the-eyes demeanor. After all, it was SEC Championship week and she couldn't have been a Tech grad, being a female and all. But hey, who're we kidding. The good Lord has blessed me with a lot more than a functioning keyboard and Blogger login credentials if you know what I mean.
And the dude at the window with the headset was just as taken aback as I was. Each time I insisted on paying him for my meal he just shook his head and said "She wants to provide you with a meal that's just as hot and made to order as you are."..."The lady in front of you already paid for your lunch sir."
What do you do at that point? Catch up to her car, force her to roll down the window and throw a wadded up $5 bill at her? Hire a private eye to check her license plate for any prior unsolicited acts of kindness? Get back in line so that you can pay it forward to that creepy guy in the royal blue Miata?
No, I just honked, waved and rushed home to tell the wife what had happened. After all, she needs to be reminded of the treasure that she has in her husband. I just wish I had ordered that peppermint chocolate chip milkshake. Mrs. Bernie loves those things.
- So...did anyone have any more questions for Coach Richt?
- If you missed it earlier, the Huskers are already spitting kernels at us.
- Over at The Grit Tree Lugnut is working through the stages of disappointment like the rest of us.
- Nice to see Georgia fans aren't the only ones supporting Richt in defending his players.
- And if you're looking for a few rational thoughts on the "non-spike controversy", Chris Brown's write up is as thorough as they come.
- Surprisingly, Spurrier chimes in from his usual December armchair and disagrees with Richt.
- Groo has no regrets. But he does have a video of the team returning to hundreds of gracious students.
- The Lady Dawgs disposed of Tech on the hardwood yesterday.
- Have you "liked" the Herschel's Famous 34 Pub and Grill's BookFace page yet? If not, I urge you not to piss him off.
- Whoa. LA Tech thought there was a limo outside when they left the Independence Bowl at the alter.
- In the latest Curious Index, Run Home Jack might have an explanation for Bielema's recent weight gain.
- Lastly, isn't it about time the SEC seriously considered just seceding from the NCAA altogether? At least in football? Some of you lawyers out there need to work up a petition or something. That game in the Dome WAS the national championship game. At least in my mind.
So it's time to get the pole out of the crawl space. Festivus4theDawgNus is currently being prepped for its third annual run. AND THIS YEAR THERE'S AN ACTUAL PRIZE!!! No "fake donuts" this time around. Winner gets a bonafide Festivus t-shirt shipped right to your door. All you have to do is outscore everyone else at the table. More details will be forthcoming on Wednesday. For now, consider these rules carefully:
Have a great week Reader. And if you're behind me at Chick-Fil-A one day soon and find the super awesome blogger in the car in front of you paid for you to Eat Mor Chikin, don't read too much into it.

- no bonus points can be awarded showing Mark May your feats of strength
- t-shirt does not come in Charlie Weis' size, which gives this pool a decided schematic advantage
- be careful with the lighting on the porch
- a perfect score for all 837 bowl games gets your name in the Bernie's Dawg Blawg banner for a whole week as well as a replica of Kruger's flask
- tinsel is strictly prohibited

Monday's Anniversary Meatloaf - Lucky 13 Sushi Gordito
.
Back in the summer of 1997 if you had asked me the over/under on years a married man could go before finding out his wife could speak enough Japanese to at least introduce herself in a Tokyo sushi bar, I would've gone with 2...maybe 3.Me...I went a weekend shy of 13 years. If only I would have taken my bachelor party on the road to Vegas and laid down a benjamin on the over...well, I'd probably have enough to buy the lady dinner tonight. Or a nice pair of CZ earrings. Maybe a screwtop bottle of wine.
But if that's the biggest skeleton to come out of Mrs. Bernie's spacious walk-in closet...well, I'm doing alright. After all, I've outlasted Brad Pitt (twice!!) and a dude named Jesse James. I've got two daughters that are beautiful despite my face for radio and intelligent despite...but I digress.
And perhaps most importantly, my Lucky Lady 13 not only accepts my fervent barking but often drowns me out. She can differentiate between zone and man coverages and understands why gators suck so awfully bad. A loss of yards is never acceptable and I love to hear her scream Hold onto the ball!!! whenever a Dawg crosses the line of scrimmage in search of more yards.
She's from Virginia, but she's both a lover and a fighter. I dig her and for some reason she digs me.
Kekkon kinen-bi omedetō hachimitsu!!
(Happy Anniversary Honey!)
(Happy Anniversary Honey!)
Today's Ingredients
- The BIG news over the weekend was the Caldwell commitment. Carvell tells us Kenarious Gates and Nick Marshall did their part to help. (link includes video of Fox's newest Dawg)
- In addition to the hoops recruiting, Dawg Night brought in some elite athletes, two of which committed. Some great photos by Dean and informative analysis ($$) by Chad.
- It's hard to tell who (if anyone) leads for Carver RB Isaiah Crowell. And that's a good thing. ($$)
- This'll be good to know for the future Uga...before he travels to places like Oregon...tentatively.
- And since there won't be an Uga at Picture Day, will Russ sit in? I posed the question on the Twitter the other night and the general consensus was yes. He'd have to be right? If anyone knows or has read something more definitive than my Twitter Straw Poll, please comment.
- And how long would Russ' line be that day? Holy kibble and bits!!
- Coach Grantham does not believe in sensations of entitlement. Is he running for office in 2012? Regardless, the Senator's office endorses the shift in philosophy.
- While Mike thinks the Braves can help bridge the six and a half weeks 'til kickoff, Streit's found a big time player in Bubba 'n Earl's countdown.
- This year SEC Media Days will have a livecast. And you can pick up the footage right here all three days on the SEC Digital Network widget in the left hand column. Go ahead, put your feet up.
- The big event in Hoover will be another chance for Vandy's coach to prove he's ready to blow the big whistle; Robbie Caldwell's not content being labeled as interim. And the Vandy Dandies may not have much choice in the way of alternatives.
- Meanwhile, Wesizer tells us Coach Belin is settling in just fine now that his family's in town.
- Looks like lamechicken TE Weslye Saunders may be tar heel'd and feathered too.
- DJ Shockley will attend minicamp...in Omaha.
- Here's a new blog called From Hedges to Hardwood. I like this post on SEC cocktails.
- Programming note: tomorrow we'll have the David Hale Exit Interview. Be sure to come back 'round here and find out exactly who he thinks that
peskyannoyingblowhard Anonymous commenter is. Plus we find out if the great Hale will be barking like a Dawg this fall. - If you are a soon to be dad and want a quick glimpse at your perspective when your child is born, read over Rennie Curran's comments from Saturday's fan festival.
- Just one small bone to pick in closing: I'm not the type of person to fly his car flags every time Prez Adams farts...and I realize the Countdown to Kickoff is a small event in comparison to a Saturday in the fall. But why not pimp your ride a little as you mosey down 316? C'mon people!
Since I take interviews very seriously, I don't want tomorrow's post to be watered down with a lot of drawn out goodbyes and unnecessary histrionics. So I'll use this end of the meatloaf to bid farewell to Hale the Rockstar. He's leaving Athens this week to go to PhilDELFya. My parents took me there when I was a youngster. I remember gathering around the Liberty Bell and some kid ralphed what looked to be cream corn all over and around the historic symbol.
I'd like to draw on that memory as a parallel to how I feel about his decision to leave. But no real ill feelings. In fact, it should be quite the contrary. Hale has set the bar high for his colleagues as well as his successor.
Yes, like a good comedian Hale has left his readers wanting more. He made blogging about UGA Athletics easier, just as he made being a UGA fan a truly knowledgeable endeavor. Despite the refinement (ahem!) that you experience here daily Reader, it hasn't always been easy. I'm only two years into this gig, but Hale's blog (and more specifically his coverage) has been a vital resource and an essential stop for all things inside Butts-Mehre.
To be honest, there are days when I just want the news from the sunny side of the hedges. But most days, the truth is what we really need. David Hale always provided the story first and foremost. But as a sports fan himself, he also recognized that Dawg fans wanted more than the daily report and occasional feature. And it is for that reason that I will miss that yankee doodle dandy.
Farewell Hale! You are at liberty to make a run for the border. But you're always welcome at my Festivus table.
You are too Reader. But please pass the mashed taters. I think I've worked up a shokuyoku.

Monday's Meatloaf - Bizzaro Bracket Reform
Since we've inched even closer to officially becoming a socialist society...the money I've invested so far in March Madness is a bottomline we ALL share, right?
I guess I pretty much scraped my way back to even in hoop$, but my bracket only made it until Saturday's Happy Hour. Which, to be fair is about 27 hours longer than it lasted last year. So be fairwarned dear Reader, by 2018 I should actually have an unbeatable bracket.
But for this tournament the Northern Iowa Panthers are the darlings. No sooner had they stuck a dagger in the dreams of my prognosticated 2010 winner than they were capturing the hearts of sports fans across America. Sure I shimmied and shook when Kansas went down, like that time Mary Hart's voice kept sending Kramer into convulsions. But it's always so gratifying to see underdogs celebrate on a grand stage.
I don't know how many times Kansas has been on TV this season, but I bet it's a number roughly 20 higher than the times Northern Iowa has. So I drank up every moment possible as they performed the impossible. What a great tribute to collegiate athletics those young men are. David didn't just slay the giant...
...Ali Babaganoush ripped his bracket up and let it drift down to the hardwood floor.
Today's Ingredients
- Despite my 2010 busted bracket, it looks like in the future my bracket may last just a little longer thanks in part to Greg Shaheen and talks between CBS and Turner Sports.
- Battle Hymn Notes has a warning for us March Madness lubbers.
- Hale outlines many advantages to having mobility in the huddle this fall. Meanwhile, Weiszer reports that Coach Richt wants his new QB to be of sure hand.
- AJ wants to do what? Oh...uh...I....just don't know...
- Like The Senator I'd be interested to see the stats on injuries returning punts. But the bottomline for me is our (lack of) depth at WR. Besides, can't we get one guy back there who's a balance of the Big D's....dangerous and dependable...??
- Chris Terry, II spent Saturday in Athens. Chad Simmons gives us the run down. ($$)
- Daugman warns us that the SEC East isn't gonna be any easier next year for Fox's Hounds.
- Exhile catches us up on the Lady Dawgs that advanced to tonight's second round and the Swimmers and Divers who finished 5th in the NCAAs.
- Groo credits the seniors in his recap of the Lady Dawgs' win over Tulane.
- And the news from the diamond was bleak indeed as Perno's Dawgs performed like pups in getting swept by AwwBarn. Although the pitching was good Saturday, the Dawgs were outscored over the weekend 43-9.
- Perhaps in even sadder news, Sandra keeps texting me...asking me if I'd like a turkey club. Poor kid. Dennis will have to stand in line.
- I've been a fan of Ryandom for a while. But I'll admit I used his dad's post of this Georgia beauty to find out that Alton Brown is UGAs commencement speaker this spring. I dig Alton...almost as much as swimsuit models..
- Nama...wasn't our commencement speaker Joe Frank Harris? Whoever, it was a snoozefest in the literal and the figurative sense.
Call me crazy, but every now and then I enjoy tracking referrals to my little blawg. Recently I found out that a chinese reader (and later a Finn) were loooking for something called a BernieDawg No. 55 Silent Cap when they happened across my little space here.
What is a BernieDawg No. 55 Silent Cap?
Glad you asked. No, it's not a red and black lid from my hat stand. BernieDawg is a dude who makes parts for camp stoves. At first I scoffed, but he's evidently held in very high regard among other burners. Much higher than I am among bloggers. Not that that's saying much...
So I've done the only thing I could think of...ordered enough parts from this Bizzaro BernieDawg to sustain my next seven March Madness brackets.
Join me comrade...it's good for health care bills, wedding pre-nups as well as warming up your leftovers. Here's your napkin. Now go have your Monday.

Monday's Meatloaf - HillBillys, Divided Houses and Late Night Wars
It's all enough to make a Dawg Bark!
No one relishes watching a HillBilly cry. But after you've kicked their teeth tooth in and given em an atomic elbow off the top turnbuckle...well, what's the harm really? BWAHAHAHA!!
Yesterday we recapped what has been a puzzling few days for the busted suspenders folk. Pat fell off her summit, several nearly drowned in Gabrielsen's Natatorium, and then Pearl's jailbirds lost their jam. And after Saturday's total domination of the 8th ranked team in the nation, I decided to go back and look at just how I had greeted Coach Fox myownself back on April 2nd, 2009. Here's a quick synopsis:

And after Saturday's total domination of the 8th ranked team in the nation, I decided to go back and look at just how I had greeted Coach Fox myownself back on April 2nd, 2009. Here's a quick synopsis:
Fox is a quality hire that reflects where this program is on the college basketball
landscape: eager to dunk (Anderson), settling for a modest layup (Fox) and avoiding
the turnover (another year of Felton).
About as prophetic as I'll ever get Reader. And as I look back on it, I'm quickly reminded that a dunk and a layup count the same on the scoreboard. Fox has his Dawgs playing hard. There have certainly been moments when they've been a little lost and utterly short-handed. But I haven't seen a time when they quit.
- Hale has some fleeting thoughts from the Tennessee beatdown Saturday. And he finds several reasons for fans to be patting themselves on the back just as fervently as the team.
- Unfortunately, the Lady Dawgs lost their senior star, and then lost the lead and the game to Ole Missy.
- John Isner won his first eight matches of 2010, but the ninth didn't end as nicely. Yet the former Georgia star remains upbeat.
- Slurban plans to be back at the reptile helm by March. Truly, I wasn't aware that he had left. You know, other than that one night in December when he went home, hugged his daughter, collected a sweet sound byte from her and then hit the trail recruiting.
- Then again, with the Wild Boyz grunting about Corch taking Corso's spot on Gameday...guess he figured what's a little heart disease among friends?
- Meanwhile, The Bull Gator reports that floriDuh picked another commit this weekend.
- Chad Simmons' says there were many people in Athens ($$) that helped to impress Jeffrey Whitaker during his official this weekend.
- Cooper Mosely has yet to play an inning at Foley, yet he's already receiving honors. The freshman from Montgomery, AL was awarded the Nat'l Award for Baseball Performance and Sportsmanship.
- If ThursdaysRTrivial isn't enough excitement for you, check out Smartest Bulldog where you can test your Dawg Trivia knowledge daily. And if you wanna join my team (We Just Crushed Their Face) click here.
- I understand the concept of the House Divided license plates, even though I hold firm to the belief that cross breeding can only result in disharmony in the home (and low SAT scores). But is it really necessary to have a House Divided UGA/Oklahoma plate? Or a UGA/Michigan tag?
- We here at BDB headquarters have received so many requests for coverage of this year's MLS Superdraft, we'd be remiss if we didn't give a shout out to Danny Mwanga, the #1 selection out of Oregon State. I hear the Philadelphia Union fans are rough. He'll miss building dams in Corvallis by summer's end.
- Lastly, Exile puts on a pair of acid washed to pay tribute to an end of another 80s hair band. The night is calling, I have to go...
For the most part, I've stayed out of the recent Late-Night-Debates. It's not that I don't get into multi-millionaires trying to make their viewers feel sorry for them, rather...I'm just ignorant. I don't watch those douchebags dudes. So I couldn't care less about who's been jilted and who's got the next meth addicted Hollywood method actor on as a guest.
But...Catherine Zeta-Jones asked me to tune into Letterman Friday night. So I DVR'd it while the wife and I finished off a Man vs Wild episode. It was the one where Bear Grylls tests the intestinal fortitude of his cameraman with a slurp! of a snail's entrails, followed by a self-inflicted enema. That's just how we roll on a Friday night.
Once the little lady was safely away at the mall the next day, I knew I had enough time to give Catherine without all the questions and nagging. (Guilt keeps me on the cutting edge, but the third degree just ruins a romantic moment.) I avoided using the fast-forward button for fear of accidentally missing the part where she walks out on stage. The by-product was being subjected to an opening monologue and shots of Paul pretending to know what the hell Dave was talking about.
The whole experience got me thinking...why subject people to ugly dudes trying to be funny? I'd be much more interested in a Late-Night-War between Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Aniston and Maryanne from Gilligan's Island (hey...it's my dream. Get your own).
Now that I'd stay up for. Or at least DVR them. As long as they don't tape over the wife's dancing and singing loser bachelor shows. She hates it when I do that. But you'll love this meatloaf Reader. Take a slice and melt a generous piece of provolone over top, then delicately place between two slices of Wonderbread.
No fork necessary, but the napkin's a must. Happy Monday!

Megan Fox Spurns the Nerds...
With the wealth of depth and talent at DT this season, many wonder why his qualification was so important? Well, it's a great feeling not to have lost any signee to academic casualty.
And a blessing to have discovered Mr. Moody's disregard for behavior parameters before the vernal equinox.
If all goes well, Geathers will have an opportunity to redshirt and get a good grip on his academics while Owens, Atkins, Weston and Tyson hold down the trenches against the SEC this fall.
Then the 6'5" 320 Geathers will be primed to dominate men of lesser worth and heritage.
Friday Feedbag
- Part of the most telling evidence that the team has undergone a subtle makeover with bold billboard painted results is the lack of Police Blotter ink around Butts-Mehre. Daugman updates his Ellen post, part deux. Battle Hymn Notes takes a look as well and finds just good Dawgs.
- In Hale's Practice Notes we learned that Reshad Jones will be sidelined with a hammy for a few days. But it was good to hear Quinton Banks took his place in the rotation.

- Dancing in the Endzone discovered that Tech players like Transformers. However, I guess Megan Fox was too busy to make the trip to Historic Grant Field. Fox is an apt name for the actress, but I always suspected she was also a Dawg.
- The Senator handicaps the SEC West race to the ATL. After reading it, it looks like his coin has three sides.
- Scout's Harbaugh and Mitchell hand out some superlatives. Interesting that Georgia makes so many of the Games to DVR, and yet also was labeled by one as most overrated.
- Freshmen are getting plenty of ink lately. The Chapel Bell likes one particular quote from CMR. Can't say I blame him.
- Dawg Bloggin' has some links from enemy territory as we try to keep up with the pokes.
- Earlier this week it was reported that Gordon Beckham earned the the AL Rookie of the Month honors. TotalUGA has an in-depth update on some more former Diamond Dawgs.
- Lastly, the man who scripted Christie Brinkley naked into a pool and had her ask Clark, "Well, are you gonna go for it?"...has died. RIP John Hughes. At least we can still Save Ferris!!
For the second week in a row, we had a photo finish to ThursdaysRTrivial. This week is even more muddled and has certainly made me rethink future phrasings to questions. I don't know how that Trebek guy does it day in, day out. Probably has a better intern than Darren.

Anyway, the answer was the renewed and refurbished DawgBone is Greg Blue's surfing stop of choice. And the obvious need for a judge left me scrambling for a full afternoon. @BPMackie suggested Paula Abdul, but he's also one of the potential winners having answered first. It stands to reason he may have bribed her with a handful of pills and a pitcher of cosmopolitans. Al Ford wouldn't answer his phone. Instead Donnan kept picking up and guaranDAMNteeing that @RexRobinson5 hadn't fumbled. But the famed Georgia placekicker also chimed in second...after kicking the whatchamacallit out of it in '78 and sending Munson into a frenzy in Lexington.
Last but not least, @MikeInValdosta mentioned the fact that Greg Blue crushes the soviet tank as if it were an AwwBarn receiver. Classic! So I'm gonna leave it up to you Reader. Since all three contestants are bloggers, I've got some especially fabulous prizes: three Webster's Dictionaries all autographed by yours truly.
I just need to know who should get the lone reference tool without the BBQ stain on page 255. So scroll back up to the poll and cast your vote. There's no ballot box stuffing and no hanging chads. Just a dose of democracy at its lowest and most impressionable.
Appreciate the help Reader. One more day of shells before two-a-days. And as usual....good or not, have a weekend!

Presidential Meatloaf

Happy President's Day! It is a little known fact that Teddy Roosevelt once coined the phrase, "Sit softly and use a big fork." On a day when you can save some time by not having to visit the mailbox or the bank, why not eat some meatloaf.
- HUGE win for the Dawgs' B-ball program. If the fighting amongst the players and the Friday speech from CMR didn't do the trick, then Woodbury's 32 certainly did. And if they were going to win their first SEC game of the season against ONE team...why not one that wears jorts.
- For a good video of the excitement at Stegeman, check out Catfish and Cornbread.
- Whoever took Gramps' happy pills, please return them. It's one thing to openly use your own column to pimp out a legendary coach that is NOT a good fit for Georgia's basketball program. It's quite another to call out Damon Evans. Take a nap Bisher. Then go back to writing about what a legend Bobby Dodd and how much better persimmon woods were in the day.
- If Bisher would read his own newspaper once in a while after he finishes the crossword and eats his applesauce, he might recall that his beloved Tech used the SAME search firm to find their current football coach.
- Quinton McDawg has a look at what turned out to be a great VD weekend for Georgia Sports.
- In all the hooplah over Joe Cox's ascension to #1 on the depth chart and the two young pups entering school early to get a jump on the playbook, Logan Gray has become the forgotten weapon. For a look at #6, Brett Jensen has the hook up.
- Recruiting update: Hybrid TE Orson Charles still set to visit USC this weekend and will announce his decision sometime before the ides of march. Kwame Geathers could announce his choice between UGA, UT and Central Florida sometime this week.
- Just wonderin'...if professional drivers can't drive in the rain...why exactly are the idiots who are amateurs behind the wheel allowed to?
- Baseball season starts Friday when Youngstown State visits Foley Field for a three game series. The Diamond Dawgs are hoping to avoid the typical odd season let down after last year's deep run in Omaha.
- And lastly, men smitten with latin sensation Salma Hayek can now officially take her off the available list. As if competing with a French billionaire wasn't hard enough, the wine swillin' baguette puts a ring on her finger on Valentine's Day...in Paris...
Speaking of VD Day, to celebrate my wife and I watched a movie called Blood Diamond. Sounded like a nice romantic comedy to me. Was everything but romantic or funny....so it was AWESOME! Leo Cap has really rebounded after that crapfest that was Titantic.
Good for him. Enjoy the leftovers and your Presidents Day reader. Just don't over tax your fork.
