Fox's end game?

I'm both pissed and hopeful. We have a coach that can actually wear red and black coach a basketball team, unlike his predecessor. And yet we're still knocking our head against a wall for no real apparent reason. I can't imagine being within 60 miles of a gold mine and not at least learning to swing an pick axe.

Fox is cool with his standard operating procedure. That's great. You "settle" for a kid like Kessler and "hope" he develops. That's a 50-50 proposition at best. Meanwhile we swing and miss on a near "sure thing". We couldn't sell Parker on possibilities and dreams, so we're banking on the status quo.

Redonkulously awesome AAU teams thrive within a hour of Stegeman. Somehow we refuse to acknowledge them. Most Georgia fans and alumni couldn't care less. I'm in the minority.

I want to win.

Maybe UGA should hire one of these AAU coaches... worked for UCLA! Just a thought...

Mark Fox is ranked #1 in player development. Give him a break.

Player development is important and kudos to Coach Fox for scoring big there.  Good recruiting helps too.

i love the Kesslers...but 50-50 is pushing it.  20-80 is probably generous.  I don't fault him for not landing Parker.  I fault him for going balls to the wall for a kid that he had zero shot of signing and not giving up to pursue legit options sooner.  You're 6 months from April signing day and in at least 3 place and potentially 5th behind OSU and Kansas at the time..and you (as UGA coach) just keep throwing good time after bad?

He needs to learn the concept of opportunity cost.  Every call to Parker was a call he could've made to someone that he actually had a chance to sign.

I have no issue with him no landing Parker. I have an issue with not landing Korey McCray.

Fox does a great job of building relationships with the national media. He's extremely talented and very well networked in that realm.

Imagine how good things would be if he were developing cream of the crop talent instead of projects then.

Definitely. Fox's recruitment of Parker is just the spotlight that exposes what's been hidden for the most part until now.

That'd be like the difference between playing on credit and playing with house money.
