Smith gets pre-trial diversion

May not affect his suspension much, but Branden Smith got a pre-trial diversion for his dope charge.
Georgia cornerback Branden Smith entered a pre-trial diversion program last month in Alabama stemming from his spring break arrest on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, according to a clerk at the Henry County (Ala.) District Court.
Smith was ordered to pay $1,034 in court costs on May 18 when he was placed into the program. He was arrested on March 11 on his way to Panama City, Fla.
